The Meaning of Christmas

Every year countless children sit down with a sheet of paper in one hand and a marker in the other to make their Christmas list. And, with all the emphasis we put on these lists, it can feel like Christmas is all about presents.

But there is far more to Christmas than just a few gifts. Christmas tells us the incredible story of God becoming one of us, and reminds us that God loves us all.

Ugly Christmas Sweater

We all have our favorite Christmas traditions. But one tradition may do a better job of capturing what Christmas is really like to do than any other: the Ugly Christmas Sweater.

Ugly Christmas Sweaters remind us that even during Christmas our attitudes can become pretty ugly. In this series, we'll discuss how we can leave the ugly to the sweaters this Christmas season.

Thanks & Giving

After being forced to cancel our Thanksgiving plans and Christmas celebrations last year, many of us are feeling more thankful than ever to just be able to sit down and spend time together with the people we love the most.

But Thanksgiving should be more than just a time of gratitude. Thanksgiving should also be a time when we find ways to give back and help other people.

Villains

From Ant-Man to Wonder Woman, and everyone in between, we all love heroes. But deep down inside, we are all also capable of doing some pretty villainous things.

In this sermon series, we'll be exploring the stories of some of the most infamous villains in the Bible to learn from their mistakes and make sure we don't become the villain in our own stories.

Count the Cost

A dollar bill is quite possibly the most recognizable form of currency in the world...and that means that a dollar bill is was made to be spent (whether we spend that dollar immediately or save it for the future). 

But there are two ways to think about every dollar that we spend. We can think about how much something costs us or about the blessing we get from the money we spend.

Fear: Faith in Uncertain Times

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began more than 19 months ago, we have all wondered: What does the future hold?

But as much as we want to, we still can't answer that question. However, by looking back over the last 19 months, we can see that God has been with us every step along the way...and we can trust that God will continue to be with us no matter what the future may hold.

It's Not What You Think

Just about everybody has some image that comes to mind when they think about the words "Christian" and "Bible." But even though we think we know exactly what these words mean, there's a lot more to each of them.

In this two week sermon series, we'll find out that being a Christian means more than just being saved, and that the Bible is more than just a really old book.

I Believe

There are roughly 7.9 billion people in the world today. About 30 percent of these people - or roughly 2.3 billion people - call themselves Christians. Based on these numbers alone, it's hard to imagine we could all agree on anything...let alone something as big as God. But we do.

In this sermon series, inspired by the Apostles' Creed, we'll be exploring the beliefs that make us Christians.

The Games

The Olympics are filled with inspiring stories and incredible athletes. Many of these athletes have faced great adversity merely to reach the Olympics, let alone to bring home a medal.

In this series, we'll be exploring some of the most inspiring stories from Olympics. And through these stories, we'll see how we can overcome adversity in the race that we call life.

Rhythms

At times , life can feel busy, chaotic, and  overwhelming. But God doesn't want our lives to feel that way. God wants us to find a rhythm for our lives that will help us be at peace.

In this series, we'll talk about how we can find a rhythm in three areas in our lives: work, rest, and worship. And we'll learn how finding a rhythm can help us live the lives God wants us to live.

Praying

Prayer is one of the most essential practices of our faith. But even though we all know that prayer is important that doesn't mean that we have perfected our prayers.

In this series, we talk about what prayer really is and we'll be encouraged to take our own prayers to the next level. 

Fighting With Family

None of us like to admit that our families aren’t perfect and that we have problems. But, whether we want to admit it or not, all families have conflict...all families fight.

But not all families fight fair. In this sermon series, we'll be talking about some of the unfair things we do and how to correct them to make sure we always fight fair with the people we love the most.

A New Normal

Life has changed a lot since the COVID-19 pandemic began. All these changes leave us wondering what the future holds for our church. But, even though the world around us has changed, our calling as a church has not.

So, as we enter into our new normal, we'll explore who God has called us to be and what God has called us to do throughout history and in the world today.

Missing Easter

Last Easter was unlike any Easter we've ever experienced because of the COVID-19 pandemic. And we were forced to celebrate Easter in a whole new way.

So many of us have been looking forward to this Easter. But we need to make sure that we don't get so caught up in making up for what we missed out on last year that we end up missing out on the meaning of Easter this year.

Holy Week

Holy week was one of the most difficult periods in Jesus' life. Throughout this one week, Jesus faced isolation and betrayal, he faced torture and humiliation, he faced agony and death.

In the weeks leading up to Easter, we'll learn how we can continue to follow Jesus even when we face difficult times from the events Jesus faced during Holy Week.

Heart of Worship

Since we began worshiping together online last March, we have talked about a lot of different things...but we haven't spent much time talking about why worship.

In this series, we'll be talking about what's at the heart of our worship and how we can do a better job of worshiping.

Following the Way

As the New Year begins, many of us take a little time to take stock of our lives and to set goals for the upcoming year. 

But as important as all of our goals may be, there is only one thing that should be our top priority: our relationship with God. And if we prioritize our relationship with God, it can actually help us in every other area of our lives.
