The Turning Point
4 Sermons | October 4 - 25, 2026
Every church hits a point in the life of their congregation where a new direction is needed. A point where they have achieved their initial goals and need new ones. For Melbourne Heights, that turning point is now. In this series we discover the new direction that we are taking as a church and the possibilities of what that may bring as we work to follow God’s will in our life.

Sermon 1
A Change in Attitude
October 4, 2026
The starting point of any journey is the willingness to go. Sometimes in our lives we get stuck on the worries and fears of what might happen in the future. But we have to let go of those fears and worries and live in the hope of what God can do with just a little bit of faith, and a whole lot of willingness to let Him lead the way.
Sermon 2
Looking Outward
October 11, 2026
The church was never meant to be a country club. Those groups are only about what their members can do for the club. The church was always meant to be a beacon of light for the community around it. But we can’t be a light if we always keep it hidden. Our light needs to be sent out for all to see in the world around us, showing the world who Jesus truly is.
Sermon 3
Growing from Within
October 18, 2026
The church is a body of believers that work together to bring light into the world. In 1 Corinthians 12, Paul tells the Corinthian church that we all have a part to play. One of us is the head, another the hand, and another still the foot. And if you want to get more specific, one of us is the kidney. We all have a part in making the church work the way it should. Sometimes all we need is the knowledge that we are needed.
Sermon 3
Welcome Home
October 25, 2026
Cornelius the Centurion is known as the first Gentile inside the book of Acts to profess his faith in Jesus. But he didn’t do it on his own. He was introduced to Peter, the disciple who denied Jesus three times, the disciple who said he would never leave Jesus’ side, the disciple who would go to lead the church in Jerusalem. Yet it was Peter who stepped outside his comfort zone to deliver the Good News to Cornelius. And in doing so, reveals to the world that Jesus is for all of us. Not a select few, not a specific people group. Jesus loves us all, and Jesus wants all of us to believe and follow Him.
